Introduction:
The mission of Millennium Medical Communications, Inc. is to provide the latest evidence-based medicine to healthcare providers in order to improve patient care. In order to achieve its stated mission, Millennium Medical Communications, Inc. operates Millennium CME Institute, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary.

Millennium CME Institute, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Millennium CME Institute, Inc. develops and implements independent medical education activities in order to improve the quality of patient care and health care services by enhancing the clinical skills and knowledge base of physicians and other health care providers through relevant educational activities that incorporate the latest evidence-based data and expert opinion and commentary.

Millennium CME Institute, Inc. maintains the Internet website theCKD.org ("Web Site"). For purposes of this editorial policy, reference to theCKD.org or "We" means Millennium CME Institute, Inc. This Editorial Policy is intended to cover the editorial content and advertising on the Web Site. Users should review the Editorial Policy for each Web site that you visit once you leave theCKD.org as the editorial and advertising policies may differ.

Editorial Policy:

Millennium CME Institute, Inc. strives to deliver accurate, well-balanced, and impartial medical information in a timely manner. We maintain a staff of professionals who are responsible for selecting, developing and reviewing all content displayed on the Web Site. All editorial content that is displayed on our Web Site is either developed by us or on our behalf or by third parties. All content that is provided by third parties is reviewed by our Editors for scientific accuracy, fair balance and objectivity. The source and author or contributors of all content will be displayed on the Web Site.

We recognize that individuals that develop or contribute to editorial content may have relationships with 3rd parties that could influence the content. As a result, we require all individuals that have the ability to control content to disclose to us all financial relationships or affiliations that may influence, or appear to influence, the content. If we identify any potential conflicts through the disclosure, such potential conflicts are disclosed on the Web Site in conjunction with the editorial content.

Although we are a for-profit business that is supported by advertising and sponsorship, we recognize the importance of maintaining a clear separation between independent editorial content and advertising and content that is developed or influenced by Sponsors. As a result, the following rules apply to the placement of independent editorial content, advertising, and content developed by or with the influence of a sponsor:
  • All content, activities or programs for which healthcare providers may earn continuing education credit are developed and implemented in accordance with all policies promulgated by the individual credentialing organizations. We are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education for physicians and follow all guidelines related to the placement or display of commercial supporters' names, logos, information concerning specific products as well as the disclosure of all financial relationships maintained by faculty and individuals who maintain control over editorial content. All policies maintained by the ACCME may be located online at the following location: http://www.accme.org/.
  • Advertising of any type is prohibited within the educational content of CME activities on theCKD.org including, but not limited to, banner ads, subliminal ads, and pop-up window ads. For all CME activities, advertisements and promotional materials will not be displayed on the screen at the same time as the CME content and will not be interleafed between computer 'windows' or screens of the CME content.
  • The sponsorship of all content that is independent from the influence or control of the Sponsor will be clearly identified (i.e. Supported by an Independent Educational Grant from [Sponsor]). Similarly, the source of all content that is provided or developed with the influence or participation of a Sponsor will be identified accordingly (i.e. Source: [Sponsor]).
  • All advertisements will be distinguished from editorial content through the use of words, design or placement on the Web Site.
  • Advertisements related to pharmaceutical products or medical devices must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the United States of America including, but not limited to all laws and regulations promulgated under the authority of the Food and Drug Administration and/or Federal Trade Commission. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • We will not accept any advertising for illegal or objectionable products to include alcohol, firearms, ammunition, gambling, tobacco or pornography. Furthermore, we will not accept advertising that contains deceptive, fraudulent or offensive material.
  • We maintain sole and absolute discretion with regard to the enforcement of these policies and guidelines. As a result, we reserve the right to remove, reject or cancel any advertisements as our sole discretion.
  • The acceptance or placement of advertisements on the Web Site shall not constitute an endorsement of the product(s) or service(s) referenced in the advertisements nor constitute an endorsement of the manufacturer or distributor of such products.

Millennium CME Institute, Inc. reserves the right to amend its Editorial Policy at any time. Any changes to the Editorial Policy will be posted on the Web Site which will reflect the most current policy in effect. Any substantive changes to this Editorial Policy will be clearly communicated to the users of the Web Site.
